US-Ukraine Veterans Bridge Withdraws from Veteran Conference Due to Concerns Over Organizer's Intentions
Washington, DC, April 8, 2024 – The US-Ukraine Veterans Bridge regrets to announce its withdrawal from the upcoming veteran conference, slated to take place April 11, 2024 at the National Press Club, due to significant concerns regarding the intentions of one of the event's organizers.
The decision to withdraw from the conference was made after careful consideration and deliberation by the leadership team of the US-Ukraine Veterans Bridge. While we fully support initiatives aimed at supporting and empowering Ukrainian veterans, we cannot, in good conscience, participate in an event where there are doubts about the genuine commitment to veterans' well-being and support. This also may not be a reflection of the many other excellent organizations and individuals that may be participating in the conference.
An independent media is a crucial component of a fair and effective veteran support ecosystem. The US-Ukraine Veterans Bridge is grateful for the efforts of journalists across Ukraine that continue to help identify dedicated and ethical partners.
The US-Ukraine Veterans Bridge is deeply committed to its mission of fostering collaboration and support between veterans of the United States and Ukraine, as well as promoting initiatives that benefit veterans' communities in both countries. Our organization operates with transparency, integrity, and a steadfast dedication to the well-being of veterans.
It is essential that all individuals and organizations involved in supporting veterans uphold the highest ethical standards and prioritize the needs and interests of veterans above all else. Any suspicion or doubt regarding the motivations behind such initiatives must be taken seriously and addressed promptly.
While we regret any inconvenience this decision may cause to the organizers and attendees of the conference, we believe it is imperative to maintain the integrity and credibility of our organization. We remain open to future opportunities for collaboration with events and organizations that share our unwavering commitment to supporting veterans genuinely and effectively.
